Buckle up and hit the road. Enjoy the delicious flexibility of this scenic self-guided driving tour.
After booking:
- you’ll receive a confirmation email with the meeting spot and directions to complete your online waiver
- 48 hours before the tour date, you’ll receive an email with parking and washroom locations
- you’ll also receive a password to access your itinerary
To ensure you are well prepared:
- please remember to print your itinerary for easy reference
- you’ll have time to explore a local food market and purchase foodstuffs and more
- bring a cooler or thermal tote to carry your purchases home
- come hungry because you’ll go home comfortably satisfied!
On the day of your tour:
- your local Food Scout will greet you at the meeting spot
- the Scout will send you off for a 3 – 5 hour scenic journey
- you’ll wind your way through Tiny, Tay, Midland and Coldwater
- there are 6+ eateries for you to visit to sample signature dishes and delicious beverages


Along the way, you can:
- visit a vertical farm
- take pictures of some of the beautiful quilts along Simcoe County’s Barn Quilt Trail
- stroll through a picturesque rural village complete with an 1800’s grist mill
In the end, you’ll have:
- found exciting new spots to eat that are well within driving distance
- discovered that big flavours are flourishing in small, local communities
- gained an appreciation for the countryside and rural farmland scenes
- experienced an easy, fun road trip and an awesome day in your life
Cancellations and refund policy:
- tours run in all-weather conditions
- however, in the rare case of lightning or snowstorms, we reserve the right to reschedule a tour
- at any time, you can change the date of your tour
- you can cancel your visit up to 48 hours before the tour date and receive a full refund
- with less than 48 hours’ notice, we’ll arrange a new tour date
- no credit will be given for partial attendance or late arrivals
- Midland Food Tours reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule a tour for safety or personal reasons, in which case a full refund will be issued

Latest COVID-19 safety precautions:
If you do not feel well on the day of your tour, please contact us, and we will happily arrange a date change.
- masks are no longer required, but guests are welcome to wear them
- all food and drink can be consumed outside for anyone not wanting to eat indoors
- we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and public health requirements and adjust safety precautions as needed
You should also know:
- this is a self-guided tour, and guests must have their own transportation to drive to various spots
- tasting stop locations may vary due to availability
- your ticket includes the food costs, wait staff gratuities and one alcoholic beverage (19 years +)
- there are washrooms along the route
- only service dogs are permitted in the restaurants and food shops
- we can accommodate vegetarian options, but not vegan, nut-free, or gluten-free
